Richard Holmes & Steve Hartley—MLP Law

Firm makes two senior appointments

MLP Law, a commercial and private client law firm in the north west, has strengthened its leadership team with the appointment of two senior staff members.

Richard Holmes joins to lead the property department, while Steve Hartley has been appointed to head up the corporate and commercial team.

Prior to his role at MLP Law, Richard was a senior associate solicitor in the Manchester real estate team at national law firm, Freeths. He qualified as a solicitor in 2002, giving him in excess of 12 years’ experience within the property legal sector. In his new role at MLP Law, he will be tasked with managing all staff within the department, while working to build a strong property team which is well-placed to carry out work both across the north west and on a national basis.

Steve spent 12 years working in city centre and national commercial law firms, before taking up his position at MLP Law. His responsibilities at the firm will see him build on the foundations already in place within the corporate and commercial team, as well as improving and expanding the department.

Stephen Attree, managing partner at MLP Law, says: “We’re delighted to welcome both Richard and Steve to the firm to strengthen two of our departments. Both have a wealth of experience in their specialist areas and we are looking forward to seeing what they can bring to their teams and how they can further expand the property and corporate and commercial departments. They have already displayed an impressive level of leadership and expertise and we’re thrilled to have them on board as we look to expand further in 2016 and beyond.”
