Russell-Cooke—Richard Jones

Partner joins charity law team

Russell-Cooke has appointed Richard Jones as partner in the charity law team.

Richard advises charities, not-for-profit organisations and education institutions on a broad range of real estate matters and transactions. His experience includes representing a national charity in the sale of a multi-million-pound heritage property and former adult education college, acting for another national charity on the sale of the care home arm of its business and acting for a foreign buyer in its acquisition of a prestigious charitable independent school. He also co-authored the latest edition of the LexisNexis Charities Acts Handbook.

He joins the firm from Bates Wells.

Partner Andrew Studd said: 'Our practice supports hundreds of charities, including some of the leading names in the sector, on the full spectrum of governance, commercial, employment and property issues. With his impressive track record advising charities on property matters, Richard will support the four other property specialists in the team and augment our offering to charities. We are very pleased to welcome Richard to the firm and look forward to working with him.'

Richard Jones said: 'Russell-Cooke’s charity team has a fantastic reputation in the sector for its technical expertise and breadth of specialisms. I’m absolutely delighted to be joining the firm’s extremely well-regarded charity practice and I look forward to helping clients achieve their goals in their property ventures and in navigating any property challenges.'

He is the firm’s fifth partner hire in the past year, bringing the number of partners at Russell-Cooke to 66, including five in the charity team.
