Firm strengthens its family law team
Scottish law firm, Morton Fraser, has appointed Savita Sharma as a consultant and Marisa Cullen as an associate in its family law team in Edinburgh and Glasgow respectively.
Savita is dual qualified and has been practising in England for over 10 years before taking her position at Morton Fraser. She is an accredited specialist in family law. The depth of Savita’s high level of experience is made up of her particular expertise in divorce and complex financial issues but also that she specialises in children related issues including international child abduction.
Marisa is also an accredited specialist in family law with particular expertise in international child abduction cases. She has authored numerous articles for the Scottish Child Law Centre and has also lectured on the subject. Marisa also receives direct referrals from the Scottish government in this area.
Marisa was asked to become a committee member of the Law Society of Scotland's Family Law Sub-Committee, where she can liaise with both UK and EU law societies and also share her views on new pieces of family law legislation, while Savita is an advanced member of the Law Society (England and Wales) and a member of the Child Abduction Lawyers Association.
Rhona Adams, head of family law at Morton Fraser, says: “Appointing Savita and Marisa is part of our ongoing growth strategy to provide clients and their families with the widest range of services available in Scotland from lawyers who are all at the top level. Marisa and Savita bring great pedigree in a highly specialised subject matter and we are delighted to have them both on board.”
