Three leading employment lawyers join firm
Seddons has announced the hire of three leading employment lawyers. Partners Madeleine Thomson and Helen Crossland, along with associate Tom Solesbury, have joined the firm from Hamlins LLP.
Madeleine joins Seddons as a partner and its new head of employment, a role she previously held at Hamlins. An accredited workplace mediator, she has held partner-level roles at Hamlins, Sprecher Grier Halberstam (SGH) and ASB Law. With particular expertise in highly complex industrial relations disputes as well as advising directors and executives on employment law issues, she has worked with clients on both a national and international level across sectors such as construction, manufacturing, financial services, education and retail.
Helen also joins the firm as a partner, and brings to bear more than a decade of experience in the sector. In addition to her previous role at Hamlins, she was part of the team at SGH Martineau, where she specialised in Employment Tribunal and High Court claims as well as providing tactical advice regarding severances, business protection and TUPE transfers. Her experience includes working with clients in industries including retail, third sector and construction, and she is a retained contributor on employment issues to the RICS construction and property journals.
Tom joins the team as an associate. Tom qualified as a solicitor in 2005 and his experience extends across the full range of employment services. He regularly acts for clients defending Employment Tribunal proceedings, advising on terminations, settlement agreements and HR advisory matters. Tom was an elite-level rower and represented Great Britain in both the Beijing 2008 and London 2012 Olympics.
