R v Lloyd [2007] EWCA Crim 590, [2007] All ER (D) 461 (Mar)

Sentencing judges should be extremely cautious about looking at and having regard to consultation guidelines issued by the Sentencing Guidelines Council.

It was only after it became a definitive guideline that there is a statutory requirement to have regard to it under Criminal Justice Act 2003, s 172.
