Shakespeare Martineau—Jonathan Pawlowski

Construction practice strengthened by partner hire in London

National law firm Shakespeare Martineau has appointed Jonathan Pawlowski as a partner in its London office, marking a significant investment in its construction practice. He joins from Howard Kennedy with nearly 30 years’ experience advising on complex, high-value disputes across the construction, engineering and infrastructure sectors.

Pawlowski’s practice covers litigation, arbitration, adjudication and mediation, with a focus on technically demanding and commercially sensitive matters. His experience includes disputes involving extensions of time, loss and expense claims, structural defects and professional negligence, as well as major infrastructure work such as matters arising from the £500m M6 Toll road project.

He said the firm’s ‘strong market reputation’ and ‘collaborative and inclusive culture’ drew him to the role, adding that ‘the opportunity to contribute to the continued growth of the construction disputes practice in London… is particularly compelling’. He also noted his focus on ‘delivering clear, commercially grounded advice’ and building lasting client relationships.

Victoria Tester, managing director at Shakespeare Martineau, described Pawlowski as ‘a highly regarded construction disputes lawyer with a proven track record on complex, high-value matters’, adding that his appointment ‘reflects both the scale of opportunity we see in the construction sector and our commitment to investing in senior talent’.
