Small but represented

Is a legal executive or paralegal entitled to represent a party to a small claim on the final hearing?

Is a legal executive or paralegal entitled to represent a party to a small claim on the final hearing? If there is no automatic right to do so is there not a strong case for this being allowed, subject to the court being satisfied of the representative’s competence?

We would have no hesitation in allowing such representation, provided the party being represented was also present.
