Speaking last week, Philip said: ‘I am proud of the progress we have made. After so long at the helm, this feels like the right time to retire and switch pace.’
Thanking Philip for the ‘major contribution he has made to the SRA’, Anna Bradley, SRA chair, said: ‘He will be a hard act to follow’.
Alan Kershaw, chair of the Legal Services Board (LSB), has also stepped down from his role, due to personal considerations. Catherine Brown, the LSB’s senior independent director, will take over until the Ministry of Justice recruits a successor.
