Stevens & Bolton—Doug Williams

Stevens and Bolton appoints chief operating officer

Stevens & Bolton LLP has announced the appointment of Doug Williams as its new chief operating officer. Doug joins from DLA Piper LLP where he was International Head of Operations, with business and operational responsibility for their International Corporate Group.

Doug’s appointment comes at an ambitious time for the firm following five lateral partner hires during the course of 2022 and the recent announcement that it is doubling its trainee solicitor intake from five to ten starting this year.

Commenting on his new role, Doug said: 'I’m excited to have joined Stevens & Bolton. It’s a fantastic firm with a culture focused on people and collaboration, clearly pointed at how together a positive difference can be made to clients, and in everything that it does. Whilst performing strongly there is enthusiasm for progression and I’m looking forward to the opportunity to contribute to the delivery of that, and being a part of the firm’s ongoing success.'

Commenting on the appointment, James Waddell, managing partner at Stevens & Bolton said: 'We are delighted to welcome Doug to the firm to join our senior management team and help us deliver our ambitious plans. Doug’s appointment, to lead and develop further our internal support functions, follows a year of successful recruitment across our business, including several lateral partner hires and internal partner promotions. Doug’s global law firm experience aligns well with our strategy to be a successful independent full-service law firm, owned by our all-equity partnership, rooted in our community and supporting clients across the world.'
