Stewart Coles—Sydney Mitchell LLP

Associate joins commercial team

Sydney Mitchell LLP has announced that it has expanded its commercial team with the appointment of Stewart Coles as an associate. He specialises in property transactions involving pension schemes and has acted for the majority of the leading SIPP providers. He joins the firm from Higgs & Sons where he worked for the last 12 years.

Stewart regularly acts on behalf of SIPPs and SSASs on the purchase, sale and leasing of commercial premises, as well as dealing with transactions which are specific to pension schemes, including in specie transfers and in specie contributions. He also deals with a wide range of commercial property transactions; including acquisitions and disposals, secured lending, and non-contentious landlord and tenant work.

Div Singh, senior partner at Sydney Mitchell, says: “What a superb addition to the team. In the complex world of pensions, his particular expertise in working with pension schemes on property matters can only enhance Sydney Mitchell’s services to its clients and professional contacts.”

Stewart comments: “I am really pleased to be joining such a forward thinking firm, and I am looking forward to working with the team at an exciting time as the property market in Birmingham is very active. I joined Sydney Mitchell as the firm is ideally placed in the legal market, having the experience and expertise to provide high quality legal advice to rival much larger firms, whilst still retaining a personalised service for clients.”
