Stewarts—Jodee Mayer

Stewarts has announced that Jodee Mayer has re-joined the firm as its pro bono manager.

Jodee is a solicitor who previously worked as a paralegal at Stewarts, including in the pro bono department. She has since worked as a personal injury and clinical negligence solicitor specialising in claims for clients who have suffered spinal cord injuries, brain injuries, and amputations.

Jodee has a passion for providing free legal advice to those who need assistance, and, in addition to her litigation cases, she has worked with a number of pro bono clinics and projects, in particular assisting clients with welfare benefits appeals, representing them at the Social Security Tribunal.

As pro nono manager, Jodee will be responsible for the day to day oversight of all pro bono work undertaken by the Legal Service and the Pro Bono team.

She shares our belief that all patients who have sustained serious life-changing injuries should have access to free legal advice, irrespective of whether they might have an injury claim. Head of pro bono Kara Smith says: 'I am so pleased to welcome Jodee back to manage our pro bono team. Jodee was our first pro bono paralegal when the department launched in 2012 has remained dedicated to providing pro bono advice to those who have suffered serious injury and illness since that time. Her extensive experience and skillset mean that she is uniquely placed to manage our expanding team and I am excited to be working with her again.'

Jodee Mayer says: 'I am delighted to be re-joining the firm, and to be doing so as Pro Bono Manager. I will be able to combine my experience in representing seriously injured people in personal injury and clinical negligence claims with my experience of a variety of pro bono matters. I look forward to continuing the Pro Bono Team’s support of patients and their families at a time when it is most needed.'
