Stone King has appointed a new national head of trusts and estates to help spearhead the law firm’s ambitious plans for growth.
Clare Harris, who is experienced in all aspects of private client work, having specialised in the sector for 17 years, joins from East Anglian firm Greenwoods where she has spent the last decade, latterly as managing partner and chief operating officer (COO).
Stone King “felt like exactly the right fit” says Clare, an equity partner who will be based in Cambridge but also manage the trusts and estates teams across the firm’s other offices in London, Manchester, Leeds, Birmingham and Bath.
“I’ve enjoyed and learned a lot from my time in leadership, but I’m looking forward to getting back to client-facing work,” she adds. “I’ve really missed building those trusted relationships with individuals, families and philanthropic clients.
“I’m also looking forward to growing the practice with a firm whose values and ambition align so closely with mine and, with the team I’m joining, I know I have the foundation on which to build something really special.”
Vicky Brackett, CEO at Stone King, says: “Clare’s rare combination of sector experience and operational expertise will be invaluable as we continue to grow to meet the needs of our clients and communities.
“We have already increased our headcount significantly and, with colleagues like Clare on board, I’m excited to see what we can achieve together.”
Clare’s appointment is the latest in a string of senior hires for the firm in recent months including Laura McHugh, an employment partner in Manchester, and James Fox and Bernard Ralph, partners in the commercial and planning teams respectively in London.
Jas Bassi was also recently announced as Stone King’s new IT director, as well as the addition of four senior HR consultants, cementing the firm’s position as a leading provider of HR consultancy and investigations support to the education, charity, faith, business and social enterprise, private client, and public and regulatory sectors.
