Support for solicitors in youth court

A specialist support package has been launched for solicitors working in youth courts. More than 60% of young people and children in the criminal justice system have significant speech, language and communication needs. Many of them will not understand their solicitor, how the court works or how to get their message across. The package provides insights and tips from experts who work with children and young people. It has been launched by the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) with the help of Just for Kids Law, the Association of Youth Offending Team Managers and other organisations.
