Call for evidence on draft Modern Slavery Bill

The new Parliamentary Joint Committee on the draft Modern Slavery Bill has published its call for evidence. The draft Bill, published in December, proposes to consolidate existing criminal offences relating to slavery and human trafficking and introduce civil orders to help tackle slavery and trafficking offences. It also proposes the appointment of an Anti-Slavery Commissioner. The Committee is looking for written evidence on the draft Bill, and would welcome detailed proposals for alternative wording. The deadline for submissions is 10 February.
