Tim Behean—Sipara

IP specialist appointed as director

Intellectual property law boutique Sipara has this month appointed former adidas group IP general counsel Tim Behean as a director.

Sipara was formed in 2010 when a team of eight broke away from IP specialists Rouse International. Four years later the firm now numbers 20 IP lawyers and professionals and continues to go from strength to strength with new client wins from the likes of Direct Line, Arcadia, New Look, Jamie Oliver and Whittard, as well fresh mandates from long-established clients such as the University of Oxford.

Sipara co-founder and managing partner Robert Furneaux says: “We are delighted that Tim has joined us. He is widely respected in the IP community and his background gives him a great insight into what in-house counsel want now and will need in the future. We want to use his expertise to offer new and innovative IP services to brand and design focused businesses.”

Tim says: “Sipara’s IP excellence and business focus are impressive. Businesses compete in tough, changing and economically uncertain markets. This makes IP and the way it is managed, even more important. My mission will be to help Sipara carry on delivering the IP solutions that these businesses need.”
