Tim Pipe—Dentons

Firm boosts energy sector experience with addition of banking partner

Dentons has announced that Tim Pipe has joined as a banking partner, further boosting the firm's offering in the energy sector. Tim joins from Herbert Smith Freehills

Tim's practice includes the structuring and negotiation of financings for borrowers involved in the energy sphere. He is focused on upstream oil and gas finance with a particular concentration on reserve-based lending. He acts for lenders and borrowers, as well as non-bank finance providers such as commodity traders and international financial institutions. Tim's experience spans the globe, having worked on acquisition financings for independent exploration and production (E&P) companies in Brazil and the North Sea, debt restructurings for national and independent E&P companies in Africa, and other energy financings in continental Europe, Russia and the CIS, the Middle East, and sub-Saharan Africa.

Jeremy Cohen, Dentons UKMEA Chief Executive Officer, comments: "Tim brings a wealth of experience in the upstream finance sector that very few lawyers have. Tim does, and is a great addition to our market-leading energy and infrastructure team. We are delighted to have him on board."

Tim says: "I am joining Dentons at a really exciting time, both in the UK and globally. Much of my practice is international and Dentons' global reach means that I can serve clients wherever their business takes them."
