Ward Hadaway—Nicola Williams

Specialist tax expertise expands with partner appointment

Ward Hadaway has appointed Nicola Williams as partner advising on corporate tax and share incentives, strengthening its specialist tax offering across its national network of offices in Birmingham, Leeds, Manchester, Newcastle and Teesside. Williams (pictured, left) joins as the firm continues to invest in its corporate team following its merger with The Endeavour Partnership and a series of partner hires.

Recognised by The Legal 500 as a Next Generation Partner, Williams advises on the tax aspects of mergers and acquisitions, private equity investments, reorganisations and real estate transactions, as well as employee, director and investor reward structures. Her work focuses on reducing tax risk for buyers, protecting tax-related value for sellers and helping businesses implement tax-efficient reward and retention arrangements.

Nik Tunley, head of corporate (pictured, right), said Williams brings 'niche tax and share incentives expertise' that complements the firm's corporate practice and adds 'greater technical strength' to its support for growing businesses. Managing partner Steven Petrie said her appointment reflects the firm's 'continued investment in specialist expertise' and that her experience will be 'a real asset' to clients nationally.

Williams said Ward Hadaway is 'at an exciting stage in its growth' and highlighted the opportunity to 'extend our integrated tax offering' as the corporate team expands. She added that she was attracted by the firm's culture and the chance to help develop a service for its national client base.
