It was a case of sandbags at the ready across Cumbria and Lancashire this week as the flooding caused several courts to shut their doors. They included Carlisle Magistrates’ Court, Kendal Courthouse, Lancaster Magistrates’ Court, Lancaster County Court and Lancaster Crown Court. HM Courts and Tribunals service said affected parties would be notified with new dates for appearance. Carlisle Magistrates’ cases were heard at Carlisle Combined Court.
