The 2017 Legal Walk, Quiz & Bake

Battling through an assault course, holding a quiz night or simply walking—these are just three of the charity challenges lined up for this year by the London Legal Support Trust (LLST).

As the impact of legal aid and public funding cuts continue to bite, funds raised by the LLST provide valuable support for legal advice centres and charities in London and the south-east. This year, legal professionals and their friends, colleagues and family members are invited to take part in a range of activities.

Channel Mary Berry for the Great Legal Bake on 20-24 February by assembling a crew of bakers in your office and selling your creations to colleagues and visitors. Follow @greatlegalbake and #greatlegalbake to keep up-to-date with what's going on.

On 22 May, the annual London Legal Walk takes place, a 10km sponsored walk through the streets of London that attracted 10,000 walkers last year and raised £740,000. Registration has already opened, and 90 teams have signed up to date. Follow @londonlegal and #legalwalk.

From June to September, a further six legal Walks will be held in the South East, outside London. These make a big difference to local advice agencies.

It’s clubs at the ready on 12 June, for the ABC Chambers Solutions Charity Golf Day. To sign up for this challenge, please email hannah@abcchamberssolutions.com.

The Survival of the Fittest event, a 10km assault course near Wembley will separate the sheep from the goats as contestants face a grueling array of obstacles, including spacehoppers, on 22 July.

Walk (or run) the Thames on 28 October, on a scenic route from London Bridge or, for a later start, Putney, and finishing in either Putney or Hampton Court. Follow #WalktheThames and register at signups@llst.org.uk.

Finally, test your knowledge on 8 November at the Great Legal Quiz. Trivia buffs, brainboxes and knowledge nerds—this is your night. All you need do is sign up, find a venue and charge an entry fee. LLST will supply the questions, which are not specific to law. Register your interest with signups@llst.org.uk. Follow @greatlegalquiz and #GreatLegalQuiz.
