Stone Chambers set joins the 36 Group

The 36 Group has announced that specialist shipping set Stone Chambers and its executive officer Luke Irons will be joining the practice, swelling the ranks to a 140-strong team which now includes 20 Silks.

The 36 Group is currently divided into three specialised brands: 36 Civil, 36 Crime and 36 Family. With the addition of Stone Chambers, a fourth, known as 36 Stone, will sit alongside them, advising on shipping and international trade matters. As well as welcoming the Stone Chambers team to the practice, The 36 Group will also acquire its Singapore office. In addition to the expansion of the team, the Group has also announced its move to a new location at 4 Field Court in Gray’s Inn.

Joint head of chambers at The 36 Group Richard Wilson QC (pictured) commented: ‘Chambers is thrilled by the acquisition of such impressive new premises and our being joined by the specialist Stone team. This will both widen the range of specialist services we offer and allow us to do so from premises of an unmatched quality, propelling us further forward, both domestically and in the international marketplace.’

Elizabeth Blackburn QC and Vasanti Selvaratnam QC, joint heads of 36 Stone, added: ‘This is an exciting opportunity to continue to provide the same client-facing and user-friendly service that has come to be associated with the Stone brand. We look forward to providing from within The 36 Group a cutting-edge level of skill and attention to our shipping, international trade and arbitration clients in this country and abroad.’
