4PB—Her Honour Michelle Corbett

Former senior circuit judge joins chambers’ NCDR team

4PB has welcomed Her Honour Michelle Corbett to its Non Court Dispute Resolution (NCDR) team, effective 18 June 2025. The former senior circuit judge brings a distinguished judicial and legal career spanning nearly four decades, including extensive experience in family and children law.

Michelle practised at the family Bar from 1987 until her appointment to the Circuit Bench in 2009, later serving as Designated Family Judge for West London. Since 2012, she has also sat as a deputy High Court judge at the Royal Courts of Justice, handling complex cases such as international child abduction and relocation.

Outside the courtroom, she has played a key role in judicial training and policy development, tutoring at the Judicial College and contributing to the Presumption of Parental Involvement Review. A Bencher of the Inner Temple, she is also a qualified children arbitrator and Early Neutral Evaluator.

Joint head of chambers Charles Hale KC said: ‘Michelle epitomises what being a “good judge” really means… pragmatic and no nonsense and with bags of real-world empathy.’ Michelle commented: ‘I’m excited to join 4PB and contribute to the exceptional work carried out by colleagues at such a highly respected set.’
