Lawyer appointed as chair of Forces Law
Ahmed Al-Nahhas, partner in Bolt Burdon Kemp’s military claims team, has been appointed as chair of Forces Law, an independent group which offers legal support to forces personnel.
The Forces Law network was established 20 years ago and is a group of 20 law firms across the country which supports military personnel and their families. The group offers legal advice on all matters impacting life in the forces and after, including personal injury, court martial, resettlement grants and medical negligence. The group also offers a 24 hour helpline for those needing urgent legal advice.
In his new role, Ahmed will work to engage with local and national government, the Ministry of Defence and charities to help influence policy and public opinion so that the rights of service personnel are made paramount and that veterans are given the support and respect they deserve to help them reintegrate with society after their service.
Ahmed said: “I am thrilled to be appointed as chair of Forces Law. This organisation provides much-needed support to military personnel past and present and their families. All the firms involved in the group commit to giving free legal advice to personnel and are passionate about campaigning for their welfare and legal rights.
“In my new role I hope to do a number of specific things—modernise our website and continue to improve the efficiency and reach of the organisation. The intention will always be to serve our service personnel.”
