Women made up 43% of all 135 Judicial Appointments Commission (JAC) recommendations in 2014/15 according to the JAC annual report. Of these posts, 112 required legal qualifications and experience. Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) candidates comprised 13% of all recommendations (41). One out of four new Court of Appeal judges selected was a woman; and three women and two BAME candidates were selected for 10 new High Court judge positions.
