Arc Pensions Law—Richard Meers

Pensions litigation team announces senior associate hire

Specialist pensions law firm Arc Pensions Law has announced the appointment of Richard Meers as a senior associate in its London office. Richard, who specialises in pensions litigation, brings more than seven years’ experience handling disputes for trustees, employers, administrators and insurers at leading City law firms. His arrival further expands the firm’s growing litigation practice, following the recruitment of partner Ben Fairhead last year.

Richard’s appointment comes on the heels of two additional hires — Ian D’Costa as legal director and Salim Al-Sabah as associate — reflecting Arc’s continued growth. The firm now has 23 lawyers advising on all aspects of pensions law across contentious and non-contentious matters.

Managing partner Anna Copestake said: ‘We are delighted to welcome Richard to our London office. His appointment demonstrates our commitment to investing in our dispute resolution offering. Richard’s wide-ranging expertise in pensions litigation further strengthens our exceptional team.’ Litigation partner Ben Fairhead added: ‘The ability to handle disputes when they arise – and manage the threat of litigation early – is critical to our clients, and Richard’s strong experience will help us deliver pragmatic, commercially focused advice.’

Commenting on his appointment, Richard said: ‘It is a great pleasure to join the growing team at Arc Pensions Law. The firm has an outstanding reputation in the pensions industry, and I look forward to working alongside some of the stars of the industry.’
