Firm hires corporate partner for South East Asia investment work
Withers has hired corporate finance specialist Azlinda Ariffin-Boromand as partner in its London office. Azlinda joins the firm from Olswang, and has previously worked at Fasken Martineau, as well as qualifying as a barrister.
Azlinda is well recognised as a leading corporate lawyer working with high net worth families and family offices, as well as institutions and government investment bodies, in Malaysia and across South East Asia. The majority of Azlinda's practice involves advising these groups and individuals on investment into Europe and the US, as well as listings on markets across these regions.
Chris Priestley, head of Withers' European commercial team, comments: “Azlinda is the best at what she does, and acts as a skilled intermediary to enable her South East Asian clients to access investment and fund-raising opportunities across the Western hemisphere. She is a trusted advisor to many of the leading family groups in Malaysia and beyond, who have absolute faith in her ability to deliver them the best solution.”
Azlinda adds: "I am very excited about joining Withers' corporate practice and working across its international offices. Thanks to its substantial growth in Asia and the US in recent years, alongside its clear focus on advising on the investment of private capital, Withers is the perfect place for me to offer my clients a fuller service and to develop my practice further."
