Bar Council backs calls to widen judicial recruitment pool

The Bar Council has backed the Lord Chancellor, Liz Truss’s calls to widen the recruitment pool for judicial office. The Lord Chancellor made the remarks at the First 100 Years event last week, celebrating 100 years of women in the law. She said: “It’s about talent for talent’s sake. I want to work with you to build a legal system which draws from all talents and represents the great vitality and diversity of modern Britain. And that will take a change in approach.”
