Bar Standards Board refreshed

All contacts and queries to the Bar Standards Board (BSB) will now pass through a single point of initial contact and be assessed centrally, following a streamlining and modernisation process.

Its website has been relaunched with dedicated information sections for the public, students, barristers and other legal professionals. BSB director of legal and enforcement, Sara Jagger, said the new website would make the BSB’s work ‘more accessible’. Other reforms include the establishment of a new Independent Decision-making Body (IDB), replacing the Professional Conduct Committee (PCC) and the Authorisations Review Panel (ARP), and the creation of the role of ‘Independent Reviewer’.
