Bates Wells Braithwaite—Sally Procopis

Firm welcomes Chief Operating Officer

City firm Bates Wells Braithwaite has appointed Sally Procopis as its Chief Operating Officer (COO).

Formerly divisional business manager in the global finance and projects division of Linklaters, Sally is a chartered accountant whose role as COO will include the co-ordination of all the firm’s central services, spanning the finance, business development, human resources and IT sectors. She takes over the role from partnership executive officer Peter Bennett, who is retiring after twelve years with the firm.

Martin Bunch, Bates Wells’ managing partner, commented: ‘Sally’s hugely successful track record speaks for itself and I’m sure we will benefit from her previous experience of working with a magic circle firm and other professional services firms. Sally will play a valuable role in helping us to further shape our growth strategy and deliver on its objectives. Additionally her interest in social enterprises and the voluntary sector perfectly complements our purpose and values and will make a positive impact on our offering to clients’.

Sally added: ‘This is the perfect job for me. I have admired Bates Wells Braithwaite for many years and this role combines a commercial focus with social impact. I am excited to join a firm that is innovative in so many ways and is working hard to prepare for the future in a changing legal market’.
