Firm appoints new senior intellectual property lawyer

Blaser Mills Law has announced the appointment of senior trade mark attorney, Aaron Wood, to its growing commercial team.

Aaron will be responsible for developing the firm’s intellectual property offering, bringing his wealth of experience in advising businesses on the protection and commercialisation of their brands, designs and other IP assets.

One of the country’s leading IP litigators, in 2019 Aaron was ranked number one in terms of appearances before the UK Intellectual Property Office (UK IPO) and regularly represents clients at the High Court. He has also been recognised as ‘Trade Mark Star 2020’ in the Managing Intellectual Property (MIP) ‘IP Stars 2020’ and is listed as one of the world’s leading trade mark practitioners in the World Trademark Review.

Aaron has built up a strong reputation in the retail, FMCG and media/entertainment industries and has previously worked in-house at global brands such as Unilever and BBC Worldwide.

Hiren Gandhi, partner at Blaser Mills Law, said: ‘For many businesses, their brands are central to their commercial success, and it is becoming ever more important for businesses to protect their IP rights, including trade marks, designs and copyright, in order to consolidate or increase their market share.

‘We are always on the lookout for exceptional talent and Aaron fits into that bracket. His appointment is part of a strategic move to bring in lawyers with niche experience who can bolster our offering to businesses and corporates.

‘As one of the country’s top intellectual property lawyers, his arrival strengthens our IP offering and enhances the support we can give to businesses, and we look forward to welcoming him to the team.’
