Boies Schiller Flexner has promoted London-based international arbitration specialist Tim Smyth to the partnership as part of a wider global promotions round, underlining its continued investment in its UK and international practices.
Smyth advises corporations, sovereign states and high-net-worth individuals on public international law and complex commercial disputes. He acts across a wide range of sectors, including mining, energy, banking and telecommunications, and has experience conducting arbitrations under all major international arbitration rules, as well as advising on high-profile investment treaty claims.
Timothy Foden, co-leader of the firm’s international arbitration practice, said: ‘I could not be happier to welcome Tim to the partnership’, adding that his promotion recognises ‘not only his outstanding legal ability, but also the stability, leadership and guidance he has provided to our team’.
Foden added that the promotion is ‘a testament to the strength of our London practice’ and ‘a great way to start 2026’.
