Firm strengthens military claims team with senior associate hire

Bolt Burdon Kemp has appointed Natasha Orr as a senior associate in its military claims team. Orr joins from Slater and Gordon, where she led the firm’s military team, bringing over a decade of experience representing armed forces personnel in complex civil claims. She has acted in cases involving serious injuries such as non-freezing cold injuries, noise-induced hearing loss, and PTSD, and is also a specialist in industrial disease claims, including asbestos exposure and occupational cancer matters.

Orr, who comes from an armed forces background, began her legal career in 2012 and has developed particular expertise in the Armed Forces Compensation Scheme (AFCS) and the specialist benefits and pensions available to service personnel. Her deep understanding of the challenges faced by the military community underpins her client-focused and compassionate approach to litigation.

Head of military claims Ahmed Al-Nahhas said: ‘Natasha truly understands the world that our clients are operating in and, as a highly skilled litigator, she has extensive experience in handling complex and high value claims. She provides meaningful and compassionate advice that can change lives for the better.’ He added that her expertise in industrial disease will ‘further strengthen our growing military team’.

Orr said: ‘Supporting the military community is hugely important to me, and I’m excited to join a firm that works tirelessly in doing so. Our armed forces make countless sacrifices, and it’s this greater understanding that drives me to deliver the outstanding service that members of the military community deserve.’ She added that she looks forward to working ‘within a team and a community that understands the needs, challenges, and problems that members of our armed forces face’.
