Browne Jacobson has announced the promotion of six lawyers to a newly created senior position of legal director. The promotions took effect from 1 May 2017.
The new legal directors cut across the firm’s Birmingham, Manchester and Nottingham offices as well as various different practice areas:
Birmingham
- Rachael Morris (health advisory and litigation)
- Emma Rees (health advisory and litigation)
Manchester
- Jamie Otter (education)
Nottingham
- Andrew Pattison (health advisory and litigation)
- Stephen Howe (private clients & charities)
- Claire Burns (property)
The new role has been created to recognise and reward the achievements of those exceptional associate lawyers who have chosen not to pursue the traditional route to partnership at this point in their careers.
Iain Blatherwick, managing partner, commented: 'I would like to extend my congratulations to these key lawyers on their very deserving promotions.
'We recognise that not every lawyer wants to follow the traditional route to partnership and as part of our commitment to attracting and retaining the best talent we have developed this new senior appointment within the firm’s career structure.
'This new role, which will form part of our annual round of promotions, gives some of our talented people the recognition and seniority they deserve alongside greater flexibility in the way they manage their careers.'
