Browne Jacobson—Adam Berry & Adam Culy

Financial and professional risks team expand with dual partner hire

Browne Jacobson has strengthened its financial & professional risks team in London with the appointment of Adam Berry and Adam Culy as partners, marking the firm’s tenth London partner hire since April. The dual addition is part of the firm’s accelerated expansion in the disputes and investigations market, driven by rising demand for specialist regulatory and professional liability expertise.

Berry (pictured, left), a financial services investigations specialist with more than 15 years’ experience, joins from roles in private practice, the FCA’s Enforcement Division and Barclays. His work spans FCA/PRA enforcement defence, regulatory enquiries and internal investigations, including significant s.166 Skilled Person reviews. Speaking on his move, Berry said Browne Jacobson’s ‘ambition and client-first approach made this move compelling’ and noted he was ‘excited to help clients navigate an increasingly complex regulatory landscape’.

Culy (right), formerly general counsel of BDO and most recently a litigation partner at Stephenson Harwood, brings deep expertise in professional indemnity disputes, major regulatory investigations and risk management for accountancy firms. Ranked by both Legal 500 UK and Chambers UK, he described joining the firm during its current phase of growth as ‘incredibly exciting’, adding that its ambition and reputation for exceptional service ‘made this an easy choice’.

Jonathan Newbold, partner and head of financial services and insurance (centre), said the appointments ‘further enhance our ability to support clients in the most complex, high-stakes financial services and professional liability matters’.
