Healthcare employment expert joins in Birmingham

Browne Jacobson has appointed Jacqui Atkinson as the head of its national healthcare employment team.

Jacqui, the former head of employment at Birmingham health law firm Capsticks, has more than 20 years of experience advising NHS Trust boards and senior managers on employment issues within the healthcare field. She handles both contentious and non-contentious employment matters, including whistleblowing, discrimination, TUPE and redundancies, as well as employment issues arising from mergers within the healthcare sector.  Based in Birmingham, Jacqui will now work with Browne Jacobson’s health and social care team which advises more than 50 NHS bodies and 150 local authorities as well as independent providers.

Head of the health team Simon Tait commented: ‘Jacqui’s appointment is a real coup for our healthcare practice. Her experience across the sector will be a real asset and will further enhance our exceptional health and social care credentials and further support our clients regionally and nationally.’

Michael Stace, who leads the Birmingham office, added: ‘Jacqui is without question one of the leading practitioners in her field. It speaks volumes for our Birmingham office and our credentials in the sector that we are able to attract someone of Jacqui’s calibre and credentials. This is the third lateral hire we have announced for Birmingham within the last month and alongside the eleven promotions for the office this year it demonstrates the firm’s firm commitment to grow the Birmingham office and the healthcare employment practice.’
