Dispute resolution partner joins Jersey office from Hong Kong

Carey Olsen has announced the relocation of partner Jeremy Lightfoot to its Jersey office, reinforcing its dispute resolution and litigation capabilities in the Channel Islands. Jeremy brings nearly 20 years of experience in high-value, cross-border litigation, insolvency and restructuring, having previously led the firm’s Hong Kong disputes practice.

Under Jeremy’s leadership, Carey Olsen’s Hong Kong team became one of the region’s top offshore practices, earning him recognition as one of the Top 10 Offshore Litigators in Asia by Asian Legal Business for four consecutive years. He is praised by peers as an ‘intellectual heavyweight’ and ‘excellent strategist with first rate client handling skills’.

Marcus Pallot, head of Jersey disputes, said: ‘Jeremy’s vast experience will play a key role in helping us meet the growing client demand for our Band-1 ranked litigation services.’ Jeremy added: ‘I’m looking forward to helping drive the next phase of growth in Jersey… and contributing to the firm’s continued success from this location.’

Jeremy’s arrival reflects Carey Olsen’s commitment to expanding its international disputes offering and meeting the needs of clients involved in complex, multi-jurisdictional proceedings.
