Wills & probate expert promoted to partner
A wills and probate solicitor who started her career at Nottingham’s Nelsons Solicitors 11 years ago has risen through the ranks to be promoted to partner at the firm.
Catherine McCannah began her training contract at Nelsons in 2005, qualified in 2007 and was swiftly promoted to associate. She now takes on the role of partner, leading a team of five legal experts specialising in areas including the provision of inheritance tax advice, will drafting, powers of attorney, trust and estate administration and residential care fee planning.
Catherine says: “Having started my career as a trainee at Nelsons I have a real understanding of how the firm operates, its values and what it means to be a partner here. I have really enjoyed taking on new challenges and responsibilities, growing into various roles and broadening my areas of expertise throughout the last 11 years. That’s what gives me the great sense of achievement in having been promoted."
Chief executive at Nelsons Solicitors, Tim Hastings, says: “Catherine has shown continued commitment to the firm since she joined us 11 years ago as a trainee solicitor. I’d like to congratulate her on her new position and look forward to seeing her grow and develop the team towards new goals in the future.”
