Celyn Armstrong—Dentons

Firm strengthens its financial disputes & contentious regulatory practice

Dentons has announced that Celyn Armstrong has joined the firm in London as a partner in its financial disputes & contentious regulatory practice. Celyn joins from Linklaters where he was counsel in its financial regulation group since August 2014. Prior to that, Celyn worked at the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) in the enforcement team.

Celyn has extensive experience advising banks, insurers, investment managers, financial markets intermediaries and other regulated firms. He advises clients on all aspects of contentious and non-contentious regulatory issues, including enforcement investigations, s166 reviews, internal investigations, implementation of the senior managers and certification regime, governance issues and supervisory engagement with the Prudential Regulation Authority and FCA.

Dentons' CEO for the UK, Middle East and Africa, Jeremy Cohen, said, "The financial disputes & contentious regulatory practice is a strategically important part of the UK business and we are very pleased to welcome Celyn to the firm. His arrival follows the hire last year of Matthew Arnold & Baldwin's 11-partner banking and financial litigation team, as well as senior financial disputes partner Daren Allen. Celyn's experience in financial regulation, as well as with the FCA, will make him an invaluable addition to the team as we seek to build on our recent successes in the financial disputes arena and capitalise on the anticipated rise in regulatory disputes."
