Cheap family legal advice rate for “Jams”

A group of family lawyers has launched a more affordable legal advice service for “Jams” (people who are “just about managing”). The hourly rate is about £125 per hour (plus VAT), and the service is available to people with income of less than £20,000 per annum and less than £20,000 of accessible savings. The scheme is accessible through the OnlyMums & OnlyDads’ Family Law Panel, a not-for-profit community interest company. The initial conversation is free. The initiative has been backed by Resolution, the family lawyers’ group.
