Claire Laver—DAC Beachcroft

Firm hires counter-fraud partner in Birmingham

DAC Beachcroft has appointed Claire Laver as a partner in its claims solutions group (CSG), bolstering its market-leading counter-fraud team from its base in Birmingham.

An experienced counter-fraud lawyer, Claire joined the firm from BLM where she was also a partner.  While at BLM, she formerly led a specialist fraud ring team and has advised many major insurers throughout her career.

Claire has also been involved in a variety of complex fraud litigation, including organised fraud and cases involving High Court, Court of Appeal, contempt and committal proceedings. In addition, Claire is experienced in animal fraud, which has seen her defend claims made against pet, equine and livestock insurance policies.

CSG national head of counter fraud, Catherine Burt, says: "Claire is held in very high regard by her clients and her expertise will strengthen our fraud offering to insurers. We have plans to continue to grow the Birmingham office and the continuing addition of talent like Claire will be key to meeting these ambitions."

CSG chief executive, Craig Dickson, says: "We’re delighted to welcome Claire to the team in Birmingham. CSG has a long-standing, market-leading reputation and the unrivalled calibre and expertise of our people is an essential element of that success. Our ability to continue to attract lawyers of Claire's ability will be absolutely key to maintaining that position in years to come."
