SRA guidance on best practice when offering inducements to clients
The ban on inducements to potential clients affects claims management companies but not solicitors, the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) has pointed out. A new SRA guidance note, published this week, offers advice on best practice when offering inducements to clients and highlights the relevant contents of the Code of Conduct dealing with inducements, such as Chapter 8 (Publicity). The Ministry of Justice introduced the ban on claims management companies in April, in response to a recommendation made by Lord Young in his health and safety law review.
