Court closures on the cards

Croydon Magistrates’ Court will close in September for four months for building work, HMCTS has said.
The reason is so it can be prepared for the influx of extra work from Camberwell Green Magistrates’ Court, which is closing permanently. Recent reports have shown that more work is needed than was originally anticipated, requiring the installation of internal scaffolding. While the court is closed, criminal cases will be heard in Camberwell, Wimbledon and Lavender Hill, and family cases will be transferred to Wandsworth County Court.
