Firm appoints external senior counsel to international trade law practice
Linklaters has appointed Dr Lorand Bartels as external senior counsel within its international trade law practice.
Dr Bartels has 20 years’ experience in the field of international trade, both as an academic and practitioner, having advised governments, international organisations and private clients on trade negotiations and WTO law. He is reader in international law in the Faculty of Law and a Fellow of Trinity Hall at the University of Cambridge and has recently been appointed a specialist advisor to the House of Commons Select Committee on International Trade. He has also acted as an expert consultant on international law and EU law to a number of other countries, NGOs and international organizations.
Dr Bartels appointment is an important addition to the firms specialist global trade law practice and brings a deep understanding of international trade law issues at both a highly technical and practical level. He joins a multicultural and multilingual team, which is able to effectively engage with trade officials to achieve the best commercial outcomes for our clients.
