Academic appointed as chief executive & managing director
The University of Law has announced the appointment of Dr Stelios Platis into the role of chief executive and managing director. Reporting into the chairman of the board, the Rt Hon David Blunkett, Stelios will lead the executive team.
Stelios gained his PhD at the Faculty of Economics and Politics of the University of Cambridge and has taught at a number of academic institutions. He founded and directed up until 2015, the internationally-awarded regulatory consulting and executive education firm, MAP S.Platis, and has been the chairman of the European Institute of Management and Finance, as well as advisor to a number of organisations and institutions.
David Blunkett comments: “I am very pleased that Dr Platis has agreed to lead the management team at ULaw. His experience will provide critical impetus to the continued growth of the business and I very much look forward to working alongside him”
Stelios explains: “This is a fascinating position and I am very excited to undertake it. I am looking forward to working closely with the management team and to contributing to the critical role the University plays in the UK landscape and beyond.”
