Rise in age discrimination claims but drop overall
Age discrimination claims rose by nearly a third last year, but the overall number of claims at employment tribunals fell. According to the Employment Tribunals and EAT Statistics for the year up to 31 March 2011, employment tribunals received eight per cent fewer claims but disposed of nine per cent more claims than in the previous year. The number of single claims received fell by 15% and the number of multiple claims fell four per cent.
