Ellisons—Navraj Rai

Senior associate joins employment department

Ellisons has appointed Navraj Rai as a senior associate in its employment department as demand for employment law advice continues to grow among SMEs and mid-market businesses across the region.

Rai brings more than 15 years’ experience advising business owners, senior leadership teams and HR directors on workforce issues including restructures, TUPE transfers, discrimination claims, senior exits and employment tribunal proceedings. She also advises organisations on compliance, employee relations and people risk matters.

Jonathan Insley, partner and head of employment at Ellisons (pictured, left), said: ‘Employment issues increasingly sit with owners, boards and senior leadership rather than being confined to HR teams.’ He added that Rai’s experience would strengthen the firm’s ability ‘to support businesses with sound, practical advice’.

Commenting on her appointment, Rai said: ‘Many SMEs and mid market businesses are operating under increasing regulatory pressure while also trying to grow and retain their people.’ She added: ‘I am looking forward to supporting business owners, leadership teams and HR professionals with advice that is clear, practical and aligned with their commercial priorities.’
