Sparks and others v Department for Transport [2016] EWCA Civ 360, [2016] All ER (D) 94 (Apr)

The Court of Appeal dismissed the defendant department for transport’s appeal against the judge’s declarations that a provision contained in its staff handbook was a term of the contracts of employment with the claimants. The judge had correctly held that the provision was apt for incorporation into the contract between employer and employee.
