Birmingham office launched with double appointment

New-model firm Excello Law has announced the opening of its latest office in Birmingham, led by two newly-appointed team members. The Birmingham office is the firm’s sixth in the UK.

Stephen Belshaw and Richard Osborn have come on board as part of the Birmingham launch. Stephen joins the firm from his former position of partner at Shoosmiths, where he spent more than five years. He is a construction law specialist with a particular focus on contentious cases, and advises contractors, employers, developers and funders. Richard previously worked at Weightmans in Birmingham and Leicester, where he acted as regional office head for the Midlands region. He has 20 years of experience in the real estate field, with expertise in commercial and residential development and regeneration. He regularly advises national housebuilders, developers, local landowners and investors.

George Bisnought, managing director, said: ‘Excellence is central to everything we seek to achieve at Excello Law. We have been eyeing up the opportunity to open in Birmingham for some years now but wanted to ensure we did it in the right way.  I am therefore delighted to now be launching in Birmingham, with two well-regarded lawyers from the local market who bring a wealth of experience but, importantly, understand the Excello culture.

‘We see this as the beginning of a new chapter for Excello and our strategy for growth in the wider Midlands region and will be recruiting more senior lawyers across all practice areas.’
