Fieldfisher—Richard Power

Dispute resolution practice strengthened by energy disputes specialist hire

Fieldfisher has appointed Richard Power as a partner in its London dispute resolution practice, effective from 1 June 2026. He joins from Clyde & Co and brings more than 25 years’ experience handling complex commercial disputes, with a particular focus on international arbitration and energy-related matters.

Power advises clients across litigation, arbitration, mediation and other forms of alternative dispute resolution. He has extensive experience in disputes involving the power, renewables and oil & gas sectors, including matters relating to power purchase agreements, emissions trading schemes, energy transition projects and greenwashing claims. His appointment supports Fieldfisher’s continued investment in the energy sector and strengthens its international arbitration capabilities.

Daniel Hayward, co-head of dispute resolution, said Power is ‘an outstanding disputes lawyer with a strong reputation in international arbitration’ whose arrival will ‘strengthen our offering in a strategically important sector for the firm’. He added that the hire ‘reflects our continued investment’ in international arbitration as demand for specialist disputes expertise grows.

Power said Fieldfisher has ‘a highly regarded disputes offering and a clear commitment to the energy sector’ and that he was ‘excited to join a firm with such an extensive European network and sector-led approach’. He added: ‘I look forward to working with colleagues across the business to help clients navigate complex disputes in the UK and internationally.’
