Firm strengthens international disputes offering with dual partner hire

Fladgate LLP has appointed Tatiana Menshenina and Timi Balogun as partners in its dispute resolution team, bolstering the firm’s international arbitration and emerging markets expertise. The duo bring deep experience in high-value, cross-border litigation and arbitration, with Tatiana joining from Withers and Timi from Squire Patton Boggs.

Tatiana (pictured) arrives with her team and over 20 years’ experience in complex commercial disputes, including matters involving fraud, sanctions, crypto assets and shareholder conflicts. She previously led Withers’ Ukraine and CIS practice and is dual-qualified in England & Wales and Russia. ‘I look forward to working with so many talented colleagues and contributing to the firm’s increasing prominence in international disputes,’ she said.

Timi joins as head of Fladgate’s Africa desk, bringing a strong track record in Africa-related arbitration and commercial litigation. He has represented governments and corporates in multibillion-dollar disputes across energy and infrastructure sectors. ‘Fladgate’s international outlook, client focus and entrepreneurial approach is a huge attraction for me,’ he commented.

John Evans, head of dispute resolution, praised their arrival as ‘significantly enhancing’ the firm’s offering, while managing partner Grant Gordon said the hires ‘mark another important step in Fladgate’s strategic growth plan’. Both partners are expected to play key roles in expanding the firm’s global disputes capabilities.
