Firm bolsters clinical negligence team with senior hires at new Newcastle office

Fletchers Solicitors has appointed three senior clinical negligence solicitors—Lindsey Henderson, Jennifer Craven and Michelle Thomson—as it opens a new base in Newcastle. The trio bring decades of experience handling complex, high-value claims, including birth trauma, fatal incidents and diagnostic delays.

All three are recognised as senior litigators by the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers. Henderson, who leads the Newcastle team, previously held a senior NHS role and specialises in matters such as cerebral palsy and brain injury. Craven is noted for her work on fatal and dependency claims, while Thomson draws on 10 years of nursing experience to support clients holistically, particularly in cases involving care home failings and GP negligence.

Peter Rigby, managing director of the clinical negligence division, said: ‘Each brings not only outstanding technical expertise, but also the compassion and commitment that define our work in clinical negligence.’ He added that their NHS backgrounds give them ‘an unrivalled understanding of client care’.

The appointments come amid rising demand for specialist legal support in maternity and medical care. The expanded team marks a key milestone in the firm’s nationwide growth.
